AREAS OF PRACTICE

FAMILY LAW

At Lori Finazzo Law, we understand that family law matters involving custody, relocation, assets, spousal support and child support don't begin or end with divorce. We will work with you to identify and resolve all issues.

DIVORCE

With strategic planning, we can help you successfully navigate through the challenges involved in the protection and division of assets in divorce in Michigan.

CHILD CUSTODY

Your children and their well-being will be the first and the most important area through which we will guide you. Child-related issues are the most emotional topics in a divorce. We understand how important your children are, and we will make their well-being and best interest our highest priority. We will work with you, and when necessary, fight for you to attain a parenting plan that meets your children’s needs.

PARENTING TIME

Children and parents need relationships with each other. When you and your child's other parent aren't living together, it can be hard to come up with schedules that work for everyone. Let us help you resolve this.

CHILD SUPPORT

We can help to obtain child support or seek an increase or decrease in child support payments.

SPOUSAL SUPPORT

We can help obtain spousal support, terminate spousal support, or modify spousal support.

POST-JUDGMENT ISSUES

Financial issues and living arrangements may change in the months or years after a divorce. Many individuals seek post-judgment changes for the following reasons:

  • Modifying child support

  • Modifying spousal support

  • Moving away or relocating

  • Modifying the child’s residence or parent contact

Mediation

Lori acts as a mediator for all of the Macomb County Family Court Judges.  Mediation is an alternative to trial, and a settlement process designed to help resolve issues in your court case.  A mediator is a neutral party used to negotiate with the attorneys and their clients. Because the clients are actively involved in the process, mediation is a very effective settlement tool that saves the parties money and anguish in reaching an equitable resolution.
